Alright, if you've never have came across anime or manga before then you need to read this section. Because here I will take my wonderful percious time to educate you.

What is Anime?

Anime is japanese animations (like cartoons and such). Most characters are drawn with big pretty glossy eyes (some say doe eyes). Another thing about anime characters is that they always have something special about them, (well the main character at least) like having pyshic powers, owning a large human-controlled anthropomorphic robots or space ship, being a ninja, being extremely well in the martial arts, having the abilities of a samurai or being one, having magical powers, being a demon in disguse. Also anime seems to have a style of it's own. Making things extremely detailed to having bubbly, glossy scenes that remind you of a dream. Now, you may think oh well then it's just like regular cartoons. But your wrong there. Anime is kinda like regular american cartoons except that most american cartoons are directed to childern. Anime is for all ages, from kids to that older gentlemen you saw at the coffee shop last week. Some of the basic genre of anime (same for manga) are: shounen(for boys), shoujo (for girls), hentai( pornography -.- ). Now you can break down these into tons and tons of genre....but note my site just focuses on occult(gothic) anime/manga....now moving on...

What is Manga?

Manga is always confused as anime by people who don't know this term. But alast I am here to inform you of the true term for japanese comics (graphic novels..if you perfer). Now, some times you may find an anime character on a manga. Well, most likely the manga came first. Because artist tend to make a manga and if it becomes greatly popular they go ahead and make the anime. ^-^ It's like a step up or something. Now manga has the same genre of anime...because they are sorta like counter-parts...I hope this section helped you understand and appreciate anime and manga.
